Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/3 cup warm water

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 packet active dry yeast, 7 grams

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • A dash of italian seasoning

Directions

  • Add the yeast, and sugar to the water and let sit for 10 minutes
  • In the meantime, combine the flour and the salt
  • After 10 minutes, add the yeast mixture into the flour
  • Knead, then let rise for 1 1/2 hours
  • After it rises, lay it out on parchment paper, and cut it into strips
  • To shape, roll out a strip of dough, and tie it into a knot as you would a shoelace, then lay it on a greased baking tray
  • Eggwash all of the bread knots, and then bake at 450° F for 20 minutes
  • Mix the butter and the spices, and brush onto the warm rolls
  • Enjoy warm, or save for later in a closed air tight container!

Notes

  • If you want to make these sourdough discard rolls, substitute 1/2 cup sourdough starter instead of the yeast
